Facing the bullring, at Avenida de Alcoy 7, stands a 1970s building that no longer looks like one: we remade it top to bottom to fulfil a dream.
We come from families of wood artisans and from twenty years of welcoming guests, and the dream was this: a small hotel made by hand. The beds and wardrobes are by a carpenter in Alicante, the water jugs by Severino Boix, a fifth-generation potter in Agost, and the tiles you'll see throughout the house are painted by the Petit Gaudí workshop. Nine suites; in the outward-facing ones, the sun comes in each morning and Santa Bárbara Castle stays in the window all day.
We wanted to recover the classic language of Alicante's architecture — the one you see in the old buildings of Calderón de la Barca. In front, the square where the Campoamor street market stood for decades; today, the ADDA auditorium. Inside, wood, marble from Alicante's stonemasons and a courtyard with an olive tree and a terracotta fountain that wants to be what a Mediterranean square has always been: the place where people gather. The Mercado Central is ten minutes on foot; the sea, straight down the street.
A reusable bottle accompanies every stay. Water available whenever you need it.
